Supercharged

Supercharged is a great piece for emphasis on the contrast of legato and staccato articulations. It has a driving rock pulse symbolising the adventures of a powerful super group! The recurring 3-note motif of long-long-short is a musical statement of the word "Supercharged", with the last syllable nicely clipped. The B section with a bass line melody leads to a dramatic breakdown and a rockin’ reprise to finish. To inspire confidence in the young musicians, the various motifs are repetitive enough to catch the groove early and successfully in the rehearsals, allowing the orchestra to focus on musical quality of articulations and crisp note attacks.
